As Sajha Ghar approaches its nine-month milestone, here is another piece of good news that most active members are already aware of: funding for charitable services has been successfully allocated through the Watling Community Centre.

As the saying goes, “Mas ko dhal ma gheu bhayo”—this truly is the icing on the cake!

While the finer details are still being planned, initial steps have already been rolled out. These include:

• Providing soup and rolls,

• Incorporating social inclusion activities into our existing schedules, and

• Exploring additional ways to promote unity and care within the community.

It must be mentioned that this funding is not just intended to address the needs of the Nepalese community. It is also aimed at supporting local community members, particularly those who experience social isolation, which is one of the concerns of the government's agenda about tackling isolation. In fact, without wider social cohesion funding would not be provided.

This is an opportunity to benefit the broader community in a sustainable way, helping us move closer to the goal of establishing a permanent BONC community hall.

While professionals in the community are already making significant contributions with running different activities, there's still scope for you to help in any way you can.

Furthermore, our strong reputation and established relationship with senior officials in the Borough of Barnet some of whom are already part of BONC and beyond, will the help us navigate the path in this journey.

At this juncture, it is essential to draw upon the 24 years of experience from our members, leverage the diverse expertise of our new members, and harness the energy and enthusiasm of our youth.
